Hey,

This is Roberta, the News Editor. Anyway, I want you to write about the new graduation requirements for those students entering high school in 2007-2008.

You can interview Mr. Robins, the AP of Cirriculum, Dr. Sidener, who will be able to tell you who else to talk to., and any freshman students and what they think. You can also do research on www2.dadeschools.net, and just write about the new requirements, why they were implemented, what the effect of these new requirements are on students and how the students feel about the new requirements.

Please have this done by Thursday, October 25, the latest Friday.

If you can’t get all the quotes from administrators for time reasons, then please have it by the end of the day MONDAY!

We’re working on a really tight schedule to get the print version out!

Jay-Z’s album, American Gangster released on November 6, 2007, is an epic of music with 1970’s New York drug era as the backdrop and his revolutionary statements embedded in it. With the upbeat flow of live trumpets and horns, Jay-Z uses Frank Lucas during his admired and legendary heroin reign over New York City as his voice.

Right off the bat, it is unanimous that the infectious, live Seventies riff of “Roc Boys” surpasses the other hits on the album and its’ excellence assures a hell of an album. With little help, Jay-Z makes the comeback his loyal fans have been awaiting since the disappointment of Kingdom Come (2004).

On “Party Life”, we are properly introduced to the “Seventies” with the Little Beaver sample of the Miami disco hit “Get into the Party Life”. Each single is uniformly paired with a classic sample or layered on top of a laidback flow with the help of artists such as Jermaine Dupri, Just Blaze, and No-Id.

“Roc Boys” is the definitely the hottest song on the album. The beat is just incredibly infectious, upbeat and simultaneously paired with wordplay Jay-Z had omitted on the previous post-retirement comeback, Kingdom Come.

Of course, the CD would not be complete without the most popular man alive Lil’ Wayne, who collaborates with Jay-Z on “Hello Brooklyn” and assists in sidetracking the compilation from the Lucas inspired concept; nevertheless, a great track.

Besides the incredibly boring and earful “Intro”, American Gangster is an enjoyably creative ride to a distant world outside of hip-hop’s comfort zone, possibly a much needed vacation from annoying dance crazes and voice synthesizers. The entire album is carefully delivered. Each track is in place and perfect to the theme and once again gives listeners something to remember and enjoy, just as Reasonable Doubt and Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life

Hi Mr. Weiss…
Tomorrow I wont be attending class due to an FBLA field trip, and according to the new rules we’re supposed to let you know before the due date so that you can print out a copy of our assignment sooo…… yeah I posted the Prewrite as… Prewrite, really amazing title , I know… and the article I’m thinking on writing about is the new MacBook Air. Please let me know if you think it’s good enough and if not, I surveyed a whole bunch of people on what I should write about and about 80% of them said the movie “Cloverfield” and I guess it has one of the 8 writing values but I’m not too excited to go see that movie..looks terrible. Anyways please let me know what you think.

I had sort of a hard time writing a formal “NEWS” piece, I’ve gotten used to being able to say whatever I please. Besides, it’s no fun if I don’t get to insult anyone lol.

But I watched the news and got an additional quote from the FPL spokesperson but I had a difficult time getting any information directly from MDCPS.

I checked my grades and i have a few Z’s for things i did.
1. My notes and quotes form for article one is in the box but i didnt put it into the packet by mistake.
2. I had only uploaded and printed one interview for my notes and quotes on article two but the other one was in my drafts so i updated the link into the third quarter post. Its annies interview please check it out.
3. On article 3 you gave me Z’s for my prewrite and notes and quotes but that article didnt require quotes. I had left you the links of the websites i got my stats from though so i thought they were supposed to go in place of my plannar.

If you could fix those that’d be great. Sorry i told you so late =/ Leave me a note or send me an email if you have anything you want to discuss. Im sending you the same message by email.

Hey, Mr. Weiss..
I’m not going to be at school today.. Off to regional competitions for rowing.
I posted my first draft.. But it’s not so good.
I’m really sorry. It’s just that i’ve been super stressed out with the tons of hw i’ve gotten from other teachers. plus, rowing takes up SO much of my time, it’s unbearable.
hope you can understand.. rowing season ends this weekend for me, anyway, so my second draft will be really good! I promise!!
