Not really. The author includes a part that is as biased as possible (the part about the teacher and her pretty eyes) to build sympathy for this teacher. the author doesn’t interview parents nor any other staff.

i think its semi objective but i reallly dont think it could be FULLY objective because i really dont think it’d be an easy thing or a common thing for someone to say yeah i think its great that kids are hurting teachers

The author does not interview other points of view such as the parents and other staff that is not the teachers/

To me it seems it is pretty neutral, the author seems to have no opinion in it whatsoever. He displays the opinions with quotes of students, he did interview a diverse bunch who had differing opinions. The article has the air of objectivity, but to me it seems because of the quotes. The obectivity though comes in when you realize that mostly students were interviewed and they were clearly against the administration.

i think for the most part it leans over to the teachers side considering that all the student quotes are on the last page and i believe they should of also interviewed janitors since they deal with most messes to see if the students are wreckles and suck

The article was not well-written. It was all through the experience of one teacher, Selig, and then began including himself into the article by writing “me” and “I”.
He did not interview any parents nor other teachers and staff members.
At some points, the author describes the teacher by saying she has pretty eyes and then stating that “Tanya, a chubby and gregarious black girl ” has a pretty smile. Other than it being a news piece, the article had a lot of description and telling of quotes. This was much like a narrative

The story is really sad… the writer made it seem as if it were not so objective but very negative. However, I really don’t know what could have made it possible. For example how the author spends a good deal of time feeling sorry for the teacher. He/she could have done more interviewing.

I think that the article was intended to be unbiased but it seems like as the reporter learned more about the teacher and her situation, that he subconsciously took her side and voiced it clearly in the article.

I do not think that this article was objective at all. The writer clearly sides with the teacher and makes an effort to express his opinion very clearly. He did not includer any opposing qoutes and found ways to state his opinion using very small words

Is is objective because it i belive that the authour wants to make a change at the school. It does support the teacher more than the students since a few students do get thier word
