Im going to the actual midnight release. Im going to get quotes from people in line and people in school as well. I want to ask someone at the store how many reservations the game has gotten as well. I’ll end with a small review at the end of the artical.

I plan to write an article about the frenzy at Edison on Friday (Feb. 28, 2008). I had originally planned to interview two students from the school which I know personally, but they both have declined being the focus of an entire piece. Which is understandable seeing that the state of the school is still a complete anarchy, students are conflicted over who is “snitching” and who is medling with the media and news cameras- from what I was told. Therefore, I will just write the piece objectively with a deeper insight into the school with the help of its’ students. I will be in touch with the two students only and derive all other information from what is already being reported.

Helloo.
This time around, I’m going to write about the FCAT. I’m going to talk about the low scores, and what has been going on as it relates to improving them.. and then actually interview students AFTER the test next week and ask them how they think they did, if they thought it was easy, and if all the efforts the school put into teaching fcat paid off as they took the test.
I would interview as i said before, random students, and maybe teachers (how they have been preparing students for FCAT, what they feel about FCAT, how they think their students will do on the FCAT).

I plan to write a revieaw on the Jonas Brothers concert. It is taking place in Sunrise,Florida on Friday the 7th. I will review their performance, the atmosphere of the crowd, and their overall concert experience….is it all that the buzz says it is???

I intend on covering the draft. I’m going to interview students who, theoretically, could be drafted while still in school. I’m also going to add in a paragraph or two about drafting girls. The interviewees are going to be seventeen or eighteen year-old with something to say. Also maybe get someone who was drafted while in school

2. Junior Statesmen of America met with Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen during their recent trip to Washington. This was for a national convetnion and the Beach High students visited the White House and Capitol Hill. The members participated in JSA debates and events. I would cover this piece as newsy as I can and interview some key members of the club and the advisor. It’s pretty big news that our school was able to participate in such an event and meet a member of Congress. I’ll report on what they got from this and if any of this can help.

I want to write a review about The Calle Ocho Festival. it is taking place at Calle Ocho on March 14/16.2008 i am going to attent to this event and take notes about the performances, whos there, the atmosphere, the type of people that go there, and how succesful it went since people say that its going to be a great hit

I don’t have a specific topic:
The view some AVID students have against the Scholars’ Academy. There are many students who come up to me and ask if I am in Scholars’ and when I answer “Yes, I am”, the AVID students start saying that Scholars’ aren’t really smart and that there is no difference between AVID and Scholars’. I want to get the opinion of these AVID students and what Scholars’ students think about them. (Flaws: 1. Can really hurt people’s feelings 2. Can burn bridges.) The angle is the criticism the AVID students have against Scholars’ and what Scholars’ say about this.
Based on the AP night on March 4th, 2008, I wanted to see what others think about AP classes and what people (teachers, students, fculty) in AP classes feel about AP classes. The point of views are ranging from the teachers, students, and faculty.
Deperate Idea: The opinion of students of what makes a ‘good’ teacher, the characteristics that teachers have to have to be a good teacher (or so said by fellow students).
Based on the Michael Krop article, about the community service hours and the way people kind of get it without doing much, my article could be about the students at Miami Beach Senior High who do the community service hours not for the community, but to graduate. How the lust of helping the community has ended and the only reason students are doing it is to graduate. Interviewing the students, especially Scholars’ who must accomplish 75 hours, on whathey think the community service is for.
Desperate Idea: My opinion on the FCAT. Pointing out what I see as the FCAT’s flaws and how it is stupid.

i am doing a features article on the school nurse. i have alot of work on my hands considering that i have only seen her ONCE in my health class and i dont even know her name. i will begin by asking coach gransberry about her, why he chose her to be a speaker and aftwerward i will ask the students in the class their opinions on her
