The author’s point of view is that the U.S is not doing enough to prevent drug abuse and are focusing too much on foreign affairs and not enough on local affairs.
The author uses fact to support the opinion presented and the opinions to say what they think
The tone of the article is “critisizing”( of that’s a word).

In my opinion, the writer’s point of view isn’t clear but I would safely say that he/she is against the Bush Administration’s efforts in the war against drugs and believes that a different approach is neccessary.
The writer states facts in numbers and statistics and follows with his/her opinion, usually by stating what the government should be doing.
The tone of the article is unsupportive.

The author’s point of view is that he is criticizing the government for not adding extra effort and money to stop drug traffickers. The author clearly states his opinion. However he uses facts to support his opinion. I see it as a structure, opinion, fact, opinion fact and so on… The authors tone in this article seems to be angry yet concerned.

The author’s point of view is that the federal government needs to do focus on our problems instead of things that go on in Mexico and Central America.
The author uses fact and opinion by using percentages to help express the point she is trying to estrablish.
The tone is demanding… as if wanting the government to start focusing on us.

The author’s point of view in this article is that the U.S. government is tackling the drug-abuse problem in an uneffecient way. He believes that they have to get to the root of the problem, or educating people about drugs and trying to prevent drugs INSIDE the country, rather than fighting it off abroad.
Even though his article is found in the opinion section, all of his opinions are based on facts. Everytime he states his opinion, he backs it up through reality which gives the article a lot more credibility.
The tone used in this article is skeptical.

The author uses fact and opinion in though out article by stating money that goes towards the drug problem and also with all the stats the author uses. How then author uses opinion is by using the word “we” and also by saying this “The Bush administration, which offers regular lectures on the superior logic of the free market, clearly doesn’t get this equation of supply and demand.” It’s very assertive as if it’s trying to be profound.
