Deadline Day!

Please Do Now:

1. For 15 minutes, take a partner and peer review the most up-to-date draft you have in your possession.  Check for EVERYTHING: Lead, use of quotes, structure, objectivity, missing perspectives, fact checking, grammar, word choice, diction, spelling, etc…  Feel free to mark up your partner’s paper.
2. For 5 minutes, trade back and explain your comments to your partner.

Today, students will:

1. Finish and print final drafts.
2. Print all notes and quotes
3. Turn in peer-reviewed first draft.
4. Turn in original story planner.
5. Finish and print 1 page reflection piece.
6. Assemble all work into a packet with a cover page and table of contents.  Hand in to me by the end of the period.

Tonight’s homework is:

1. Begin brainstorming story ideas for your next assignment.
2. Post 5 story proposals on your blog by Friday night.  Give a three sentence summary of each idea (what is the angle, who would you interview, where would you get your facts, how many words, etc.)  Your editors will be checking your blogs over the weekend to give you your next assignment.
