Maydel Almaguer, Miami Beach High Senior and President of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, has been awarded the title of Lodging Management Student of the Year Award along with a $5000 college scholarship. She will be honored at the Florida Restaurant and Hospitality Awards Luncheon in Orlando, Florida on September 8. Maydel will be the first student in Beach High history to be awarded a scholarship as a current student.
